Mike McCormick

Sioux City

Mike McCormick is Facilities Manager at the Sioux City Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center and the adjoining Betty Strong Encounter Center, a private, non-profit cultural complex on the Missouri Riverfront.

In his evolving role, Mike handles everything from large-events planning to grounds and garden development to photo exhibition conceptualization, planning and installation. Additionally, he produces and presents programs on Siouxland history, with special interest in the area’s rich car-racing heritage.

A retired sergeant with the Sioux City Police Department (SCPD), Mike began his law enforcement career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). During his long tenure with the SCPD, he worked a wide variety of beats, from undercover investigations to traffic to police liaison at Sioux City’s East High School.

Mike designed and installed displays for the SCPD’s Museum which opened in 2011. He is widely known for his community involvement.

The father of five, Mike is married to Eileen McCormick. The couple has three grandchildren.
